LA County guidelines on reconstruction

Great news!! LA County just released their initial guidance for rebuilds. Similar to previous fire reconstruction guidance in Malibu, like-for-like within 110% of original area, height or footprint. Select exemption on Oak Tree permits.

Like-for-Like Replacement
"Like-for-like" structures must be for the same use with the same size, and at the same location, as the legally established damaged or destroyed structure(s). Proof of legal establishment (such as building permits, LA County Planning approvals, Building Description Blanks, etc.) of the damaged structure(s) will be provided by LA County. Under certain circumstances, the like-for-like replacement structure may be approved with modifications from the damaged or destroyed structure but those modifications cannot exceed a 10% increase in floor area, size, height, or building footprint.
